SIPs Kit Optional Extras

Here at SimplySIPs, you can purchase one of our bespoke SIPs kits, which includes all floor, wall and roof SIPs panels cut to size and ready to construct your garden studio.

Within the SIPs kit, you would also get all the associated jointing splines and timbers; This includes the soleplate, top plate, roof plate, and either battens or a subframe depending on which garden room foundation you are using.

You would also receive full assembly instructions on delivery, which detail how to build your SIPs kit. Our friendly drivers would go through these with you to make sure you’re completely happy and answer any questions you might have.

With our SIPs kits, we are also able to supply a list of the following optional extras:

Panel Thickness Upgrade

For the majority of our SIPs kits, we would use 97mm thickness SIP panels for the walls and roof of your design, meaning you would have the option to upgrade these to 122mm thickness panels.

If you plan to use the studio all year round, you will get a better thermal value from the thicker 122mm SIPs panels.

We always use 97mm thickness panels for the floor of our SIPs kits. From an insulation point of view, heat rises so it is better to upgrade the walls and roof, rather than the floor.

Depending on the size of your SIPs kit, sometimes we will automatically use the 122mm thickness panels for the walls or roof (or both), as these panels allow for thicker timbers, therefore adding more structural support.

Please note, we do not supply SIPs kits in 147mm thickness panels.

The approx. U values for the 97mm SIPs are 0.30 w/m²k and for 122mm SIPs are 0.22 w/m²k.

Extra Opening Reveals

The first door opening reveal will always be included in the cost of the SIPs kit.

Any additional opening would incur an extra cost due to the additional cuts and timber required.

Please note, we do not recommend adding openings after constructing your SIPs kit. We use a header footer system, so it is not a case of cutting a hole in the panel but placing the panels around the opening instead. Any amendments made to the studio after delivery can affect the guarantee.

Fixing Kit

Our fixing kit includes everything you need to construct your studio straight away.

The items included in our fixing kits are as follows: Variety of screws and nails, adhesive, ratchet straps and a temporary DPM plastic sheet.

Should you choose not to order our fixing kit, your instructions pack will include a list of everything you will need to purchase yourself, in order to constuct your SIPs studio.

UK Wide Delivery

We can offer UK wide delivery using all our own vehicles and drivers. (Excluding the Isle of White and Northern Ireland)

Please send us a postcode and we would be happy to confirm the cost of delivery to your address.

We do work on a first come first served basis when it comes to delivery slots, meaning our lead times tend to change quite regularly. Please feel free to contact us if you would like to know our current lead times.

On-Site Construction

We can offer an on-site installation service, where our guys would construct your studio to shell finish, as well as fit the external breathable membrane and battens, if ordered from us, however they would not fit the EPDM roof membrane.

Please note, if you are looking to have your studio constructed by our team, you will also be required to purchase our fixing kit, for our guys to use when building your studio, as well as cover the cost of delivery.

For us to confirm an on-site construction is possible, and confirm the number of days it would take, we would ask you to fill out a required install form as well as send over a short video showing the access from parking area through to the build site.
