Our Floor and Roof SIP Panels
We offer the option to purchase straight uncut SIP panels and jointing splines to create your garden room yourself on site.
When purchasing our straight uncut SIP panels, we do not tend to get involved with the design process at all, however often people are not familar with or do not understand the concept of our floor and roof SIP panels.
These are unique SIP panels, which currently no one else in the industry produces, so let us explain how they work.
Roof Spans Of Our SIP Panels
For spans up to 3m, our standard 2.44m x 1.22m or 3m x 1.2m SIPs panels can be used with simply just a jointing spline between each join.
Our 2.44m x 610mm floor/roof panels are designed to be joined end-on-end for spans over 3m and up to 4.88m.
Which Panel Thickness To Use
We always use 97mm thickness panels for the floor of our studios. From an insulation point of view, heat rises so it is better to upgrade the walls and roof panels, rather than the floor.
Depending on the overall footprint of your studio, you can use either 97mm or 122mm thickness panels for the walls and roof.
For larger studios, we would recommend using the thicker 122mm roof panels, as these allow for thicker timbers between the joins, therefore more structural support.
How To Use The Floor/Roof SIP Panels
Unlike all our other SIP panels which have 50mm rebate, the floor/roof panels we supply are all rebated to a depth of 100mm on the sides and 50mm on the ends.
This allows for two timbers and a jointing spline to be fitted between each join, running through the span of the floor/roof, therefore offering better structural stability.
